Getting it just right

Creating a prototype.

We started by making a MacBook Air template, matching the measurements from Apples website (this was as soon as the product went live on the site) to help us create the first prototypes.

Once we had the template it was time to hand cut the leather to measurements that would fit the Mac inside. This can take some trial and error to get the fitting right. The first prototypes were very tight to fit the Mac inside. So the next prototype had to have 3 mm (just the right amount) additionally added to more easily slip in the Mac.

It was important that we used the best possible leather, so we went with Italian top grain leather.

Getting the right corner and emboss

We tested a lot of different angles to get the just right angles for the bottom of the sleeve.

We then had some custom brass plates made in different sizes so we can proudly monogram our first Ospeka Edition product. We also created the first OSPEKA only logo for the back of the sleeve.

A custom knife is made.

Once we were happy with the hand cut leather dimensions, we were able to get custom knifes made so that it would be consistent and save time when cutting the leather. This means that in seconds we can cut several panels at a time ready to be monogrammed and stitched.

We are really proud of the experience that we create for our customers as they unpack their Ospeka products. This product needed to take it up a level. These beautiful cotton dust bags are the perfect complement to the Ospeka Leather Sleeves.

On top you will find the Ospeka logo on a matching leather rectangle to the leather sleeve inside, giving you the ability to see and feel the leather before you open the box.
